Gencart Privacy Notice

Why does Gencart ask for my personal information?

The information we learn from customers helps us personalize and continually improve your shopping experience at Gencart. Here are the types of information we gather.

Information You provide:

We receive and store any information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, customizing future shopping for you, improving our stores, and communicating with you.

Automatic Information:

We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many Web sites, we use "cookies," and we obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses Gencart or advertisements and other content served by or on behalf of Gencart on related websites.

E-mail Communications:

If you choose to sign up for newsletters or additional information, you can expect to receive additional emails regarding such things. Also, email communication has become a necessity in online shopping to receive such things as important updates and invoices. Email addresses at times are shared with other parties, including internet service providers which are necessary to use in order to transmit e-mail replies.

Information from Other Sources:

We might receive information about you from other sources and add it to our account information. The information is used to track orders when needed. Information is not shared with outside parties except to delivery service companies, credit card processing agencies and banks, and other companies as required or allowed by law. The information may be shared with firms including accountants, lawyers, government agencies and other parties as may be required or allowed by law. The information may be used by leased personnel or seasonal staffing companies and their personnel to process the order. The information may be used by contracted warehouses and freight lines necessary to fulfill the order in a timely manner.

With Your Consent:

Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when information about you might go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that can be transferred to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide features such as "1-Click purchasing" and storage of items in your Shopping Cart between visits.

The “Help” portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Additionally, you can disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons, such as Flash cookies, by changing the add-on's settings or visiting the Web site of its manufacturer. However, because cookies allow you to take advantage of some of Gencart’s features, we recommend that you leave them turned on. For instance, if you block or otherwise reject our cookies, you may not be able to add items to your Shopping Cart, proceed to Checkout, or use any Gencart products and services that require you to Sign in.

Data Security:

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
